Co-treatment

Co-treatment is an important aspect of the healthcare paradigm at Portland Chiropractic Neurology. We are not always the appropriate treatment for your condition. Recognizing this is something that the medical profession does very well and is an excellent model of care- a team approach, which is at the core of our integrative approach at PCN. At our office, we are able to combine many effective therapies, but if that doesn't work for you, we are able to determine that very quickly and make the necessary referral. Surgery is often a useful treatment when conservative care has failed. Physical Therapists are excellent practitioners in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions that require more attention to strengthing, conditioning or pattern changes within the muscles. Dieticians, Massage Therapists, Pharmaceuticals, Acupuncture, Personal Trainers, Podiatrists and many other practitioners are utilized in our office to appropriately treat our patients, and most of the time in a co-treatment fashion. The bigger and better the team when necessary, the better care for the patient. It is highly recommended to try conservative care, such as a Chiropractic Neurologist for many conditions, who can then determine who else should be involved in the team approach to your healthcare. Something that we train consistently and remind our staff, "Patient results are of the greatest importance, we do not fit a patient into our paradigm, we determine what is necessary based upon their unique presentation and create a plan. And, we love it when a plan comes together, which it often does in our office."
